Conventions and Conferences - regional conferences
In May 1954, the men of Zeta Beta, along with Prof. Blair, participated in the Southeastern Region Alpha Phi Omega convention hosted by the Kappa Tau chapter at The Citadel. March 22-23, 1958, found the Zeta Beta brothers traveling to Georgetown University, for the Eastern Regional Conference. Dr. George G. Knueppel of Zeta Beta was panel Chair for the discussion "Problems for the National Convention".
The Southeastern Alpha Phi Omega Conference was held in Raleigh, North Carolina, in February 1962. Prof. Blair led a workshop on training of Advisors in the chapters, ZB President Robert Ellis led a workshop on fellowship in the chapters, and First Vice President Payton Bowden held a workshop on rush.
In December 1979, Zeta Beta hosted the biennial Region III Conference at the Sheraton Red Lion Inn in Blacksburg. Attended by ten chapters, the program included a National Leadership Development Training program presented by Howard Patton and Fred Pollack.
A Regional Conference was held at William and Mary in 1983, and Zeta Beta sent nine brothers. In fall 1985, fifteen brothers, two pledges, and two Advisors traveled to Wake Forest for the Region Ill Conference. Jennie Davis and Cory Boyce served as delegates.
In 1990, the Region III conference was held at Research Triangle Park, co-hosted by NC State, Duke, and North Carolina. In 1993, the Region III conference held at the University of Maryland drew 15 brothers and alumni. In October, 1993, 16 brothers traveled to James Madison University for a weekend of service and friendship. The Regional Conference in Fall 1995 was held at Alpha Delta Iota chapter at VCU. Fifty Zeta Beta brothers attended the conference, and received a first place award for their roll call, as well as the man-mile award.
In fall 1997, the Region III Conference was held at NC State.
The 2001 Regional Conference was held at William and Mary. Travis Gray was a delegate.
October 31 – November 2, 2003; “Region III Fall Festival” at Elon University.
The 2005 Regional Conferece was held in North Carolina, at Elon College.
The 2007 Regional Conference was held at North Carolina State University where Caitlin Flynn and Nick Robertson were delegates.
The 2009 Regional Conference was held at the College of William and Mary. The voting delegates were August Sarroll and Claire Eberhardt.
The 2011 Regional Conference was held on October 21-23, 2011: “The Magic Number is 3″ at University of Maryland - College Park. ZB did not send anyone this year.
